Roundthorn Country House Blogs are back. 🎉
Albeit with a little help from spell check, ChatGPT for some topic inspiration, and my overly active 12am brain. 🤣
I’ve never been a blogger, but I can talk for England, so surely the two can work together… right?
With my love for weddings, and being a wedding coordinator as my actual job, it somehow feels right to throw myself into this new little world. Honestly, whether it lasts or I get bored after three blogs… we’ll see.
But for now, welcome.
Some of you true Roundthorn Wedding die-hards will know that, sadly, Collette, my colleague and wedding partner-in-crime departed from the weddings world just over a year ago, heading off on a new venture that allowed her to spend more time with her little girl.
As much as I had lost one of my wedding limbs (and someone to talk to 24/7 about weddings!), it gave me a whole new motivation to keep weddings at Roundthorn Country House as good as they’ve always been.
Only now… there’s just me.
And, as it turns out, I take things very personally. I treat every “I do” like it’s my own. I’m fiercely protective of every element of my couples’ days, and behind the scenes, I really don’t switch off. This probably explains why I’m constantly on Instagram. (Please don’t look at my screen time.) 🙈
I could quite happily waffle away on there all day, but I thought it was probably best that I didn’t… after all, I need couples to come to Roundthorn, not run away from me!
So, instead, here comes the blog.

So, what’s this all about? Well… weddings, obviously.
But probably a little bit of everything that comes with them too.
Expect wedding planning tips, ideas and inspiration, behind-the-scenes snippets from Roundthorn, real wedding stories, supplier love, wedding trends, things I’ve learnt along the way, and probably the occasional completely unnecessary opinion from me… because after years of working with couples, watching plans come together, solving last-minute disasters and generally living and breathing weddings, I’ve got a lot to say.
And whilst yes, I work for the venue, yes, I’m part of an amazing team, and yes, I will forever try to hide behind all of that on social media — and even on the wedding day itself if I can 🙈 — this blog is going to be the little personal part of me as a wedding coordinator (again who cant keep quiet!)
Doing my job, doing it with the amazing team at Roundthorn, occasionally overthinking everything, and probably sending too many emails…
but genuinely loving every single bit of it.
