Accessibility

Here at Roundthorn we understand the requirements of guests with disabilities.  We recognise and accommodate  these requirements and staff are always on hand to
assist.
Below is information regarding the access to the hotel which may be useful for any queries that guests may have. For any other questions or queries, please contact the
hotel on 01768863952 or email us at info@roundthorn.co.uk

Arriving at the hotel:
The hotel is situated 3 miles from the M6 and 2 miles from the A66, just north of the market town of Penrith. Our closest railway station is Penrith North Lakes which is 2 miles
away. Taxis can be arranged with our local taxi companies.

Check in begins at 3pm and checkout is at 11am. We ask those who plan to be arriving at the hotel later than 10pm to inform us as we do not operate a late check in / night porter.
We offer 24 hour free parking to our guests with designated disabled parking bays. We also have 2 electric vehicle charging points for those with electric vehicles. These
charging points are managed by Charge My Street and more information can be found on their website, www.chargemystreet.co.uk or by downloading the Fuuse App.

Staff are always on hand to help with the movement of luggage from your vehicle to your room.
For those that require a room on a lower level we ask that you inform this to us at the time of booking.

Entering and moving about the hotel:
The hotel has a designated disabled entrance at the far side of our main function suite, which brings you step-free into the building and brings you on to the main floor of the hotel.
This entrance has a door bell which allows you to alert staff who will be more than happy to help out.

Our apartments have an access ramp that allows our guests to enter their accommodation step-free. We also have apartments with a wider door. If this is something you may need please inform us at the time of booking.

We have a disabled toilet with step-free access and baby changing facilities. This is situated on ground floor level and staff will be more than happy to help you navigate to
the appropriate facilities.

Due to the age and historical features of the building we unfortunately have no lift, however, arrangements can be made at the time of booking to accommodate any
requirements.

We will happily store any wheelchairs or mobility scooters. Please inform any member of staff and they will be on hand to assist.

Functions, the restaurant and bar:
We take all dietary requirements seriously and we are more than happy to accommodate any requests. We thoroughly ask our guests of any dietary needs during our functions and
evening restaurant service. When booking a function, table or conference we request that our guests inform us of these requirements. This gives us more time to prepare and gives
the guest a greater variation in what we can offer.

We have a large variation of chairs (with/without arms, lower/higher and also highchairs) and tables that can be sat at with a wheelchair underneath.

Our evening restaurant is entirely table service and staff are always on hand to help those who need assistance accessing the bar during larger functions.

All of our menus can be made in a larger print upon request. Our staff will always be on hand to assist with reading or explaining any of our leaflets or menus.

Our main function suites are accessible through large double doors and staff are always on hand to help you navigate your way around the hotel.

The lighting is generally dimmer during evening service but we are more than happy to accommodate those needing somewhere lighter to sit.
