Choosing our wedding venue was something that was really important to us, and The Roundthorn Country House was everything we were looking for. Sophie has always had a love for the countryside, so the beautiful setting on the outskirts of Penrith immediately appealed to us. It gave us the countryside feel we wanted, while still offering the grandeur of a beautiful stately home — without feeling dated or old-fashioned, and without the huge price tag that can sometimes come with that style of venue.
Looking back on our wedding day, we genuinely don’t think we could pinpoint one favourite moment. The whole day, from start to finish, was everything we had imagined and more. From saying “I do” to our first dance, every part of the day felt so special and went exactly as we had hoped.
A huge part of that was down to Anouska and the rest of the Roundthorn team. From the very beginning of the planning process, Anouska was absolutely fabulous. She helped us stay calm, organised and on track throughout, and was always there to guide us whenever we needed it. By the time our wedding day arrived, I had complete confidence that everything would run smoothly and as planned — which meant we could simply relax and enjoy every moment. We honestly can’t thank her enough!
Our guests also couldn’t stop talking about the venue. We had so many compliments throughout the day about how beautiful The Roundthorn was and, of course, how amazing the food was. Even weeks later, people are still talking about it!
For anyone considering The Roundthorn Country House for their wedding, we genuinely couldn’t recommend Anouska and the whole team enough. They made the entire experience so enjoyable and stress-free, and helped make our wedding day everything we had dreamed of and more.
